Library is an organized collection of
information resources made accessible to a defined community for reference or
borrowing. It provides physical or digital access to material, and may be a
physical building or room, or a virtual space, or both. (Allen, R. E., ed. (1984)).
If we talk about library,we must be
thinking of an empty place with a lot of books. But this is all so wrong,we
should erease that lame point of view. Library nowadays is a crowded place (at
least in some library). Library could be crowded depends on what kind of books
they had inside the library, and also the interiodesign of the library.
People nowadays likes to visit a comfort and
cozy library. And some library even had small café inside it. People could
enjoying a cup of coffee or a cup of tea while reading book. Or maybe enjoying
the a cake while reading.
Besides expecting a cozy libray,visitor
also expecting the internet connection in the library or a wifi.
Visitors could borrow books from the
library by being a library member. But
not all kind of books that could be borrowed. There also certain kind of book
that couldn’t be borrowed.
For the example of a cozy librry is,the
library in Gunadarma University,Depok,West Java, Indonesia. The new libabry had
done being built last year(2012). Many students visited the library everyday
for do their assignments,thesis or just reading books. The library also
contains wifi connection and alo of cozy seats and tables. But there’s no café
inside it. Eat and drink inside the library are forbidden.
