Definisi Passive Voice

Passive voice atau kalimat pasif digunakan ketika kita ingin mengatakan bahwa subjek bukan pelaku,melainkan menerima aktivitas/perbuatan.

Bagaimana mengubah kalimat aktif menjadi pasif

Cara merubah kalimat aktif menjadi pasif adalah dengan merubah Subject+Verb3+Object menjadi Subject+be+past participle verb/verb3±(by,of,in) dan menaruh object yang tadinya berada di akhir kalimat menjadi di awal kalimat.

5 buah contoh kalimat aktif menjadi pasif                

Aktif :  the news surprises me

Pasif : i am surprised by the news

Aktif : She cleans the house

Pasif : the house is cleaned by her

Aktif : Jared has mailed the letter

Pasif : The letter has been mailed by Jared

Aktif : the truck carries a ton of rice to Yogyakarta

Pasif : a ton of rice is carried by the truck to yogyakarta

Aktif : Esme gives us a special present

Pasif : a special present is given to us by Esme
